Firstly, lift and support the vehicle to replace the Steering Knuckle. Take off the tire and wheel assembly and then you should lift up the lower Control Arm with a suitable jack. It is important to lift the brake caliper assembly from the unit without having to dismount the mounting bracket after which it is supported on mechanics wire. If the car has a 4wd section, unscrew the front wheel drive shaft from the Steering Knuckle. Following, disconnect the speed sensor wiring harness from the retaining clips of the upper Control Arm and the frame and disconnect the outer Tie Rod End of the knuckle. Tighten the lower Ball Joint retaining nut to 108 nm (79 ft. Lbs.), were required to align the cotter pin without turning more than a 1/6 turn. Install a new cotter pin and turn both ends in towards the nut. Follow the same procedure for the upper Ball Joint by tightening its retaining nut at 83 nm (61 ft. Lbs.) and placing a new cotter pin. To conclude, install the tie rod end ball to knuckle of steering with the outer tie rod ball retainer nut tightened to 53 nm (39 ft. Lbs.) with a new cotter pin. Finish the process by reinstalling the Wheel Hub and bearing, and inspecting the front wheel alignment.
