How to replace the steering knuckle on a 4WD on Chevrolet Blazer?

The replacement process of a 4wd Steering Knuckle needs a vehicle elevation along with support before tire and wheel removal followed by Wheel Hub and bearing extraction. Start by using j 24319-b to pull off the outer Tie Rod End from the Steering Knuckle after you remove the cotter pin first, followed by the outer tie rod retaining nut. Disconnect the Wheel Speed Sensor wiring harness bracket and brake hose bracket through the disassembly of their mounting bolts and nuts which fasten the upper Control Arm. Lift the upper Control Arm by using a pry bar while you've removed its retaining nut and cotter pin from the Ball Joint. Help from an assistant allows you to gently hit the Steering Knuckle near the upper Ball Joint stud to free it up before uninstalling the upper Ball Joint. To disconnect the lower Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle use the Ball Joint separator tool (J 43631) after you remove its retaining nut and cotter pin. Following the removal of the Steering Knuckle along with its seal you need to install the new Steering Knuckle seal after which you can join the Steering Knuckle to its upper and lower Ball Joint studs. Tighten the lower Ball Joint retaining nut to 108 nm (79 ft. Lbs.) then align the cotter pin before finalizing with less than 1/6 turn. Leveled new cotter pins then bent their ends into proper position facing the nut. Tighten the upper Ball Joint retaining nut to 83 nm (61 ft. Lbs.) before aligning the cotter pin. Secure the brake hose bracket along with the Wheel Speed Sensor to the upper Control Arm using bolts and nuts tightened at 24 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Secure the Tie Rod End ball stud while tightening the outer tie rod ball retaining nut up to 53 nm (39 ft. Lbs.). After tightening finish by installing a new cotter pin. The Wheel Hub and bearing should go back into place after finishing the routine with front wheel alignment verification.
