To replace the engine-coolant Thermostat in vehicles with llv and llr engines (2.9L, 3.7L), start with draining the cooling system. Lift and stabilize the vehicle enough to reach the Thermostat Housing wheezing through the wheelhouse, then pop the leftover wheelhouse liner. It is recommended to remove the radiator inlet hose from the Thermostat by using hose clamp pliers, i.e., a j 38185 hose clamp pliers. Secondly, you need to remove the Thermostat Housing bolts and loosen the Thermostat Housing from the engine block. Clean and inspect the engine block's sealing surface and the Thermostat Housing. For installation, place the Thermostat Housing onto the engine block while making sure the Thermostat Housing bolts are properly installed and tightened immediately to 10 nm (89 lb in). Replace the radiator inlet hose using the j 38185 hose clamp pliers, replace the left wheelhouse liner, and lower the vehicle. Lastly, cool down the system and check all the sealing points for leakages after the ignition of the engine.
