How to replace the thermostat on a 3.4L engine on Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

To change the Thermostat on a 3.4l engine, start by removing the air cleaner intake duct and draining cooling system partially. Use the hose clamp pliers j 38185 to move the hose clamp off the water outlet housing, later, remove the radiator inlet hose from the water outlet housing. Next, extract out the exhaust crossover pipe and the water outlet housing bolts, and then the water outlet housing and gasket are extracted out. Remove the Thermostat and clean the water outlet mating surfaces. For installation, install the Thermostat first and then the water outlet gasket and housing. Mount the water outlet housing bolts with a torque of 25nm (18ft. Lbs) and reinstall the exhaust crossover pipe and the radiator inlet hose back onto the water outlet housing. Remove the hose clamp from the water outlet housing with these same hose clamp pliers (J 38185) and reposition the hose clamp to the outlet housing and then reattach the air cleaner intake duct and before refilling the system of the cooling system.
