In order to replace the Thermostat one should remove the air cleaner, the duct assembly, partially drain the coolant, remove the coolant recovery reservoir. Remove the
Thermostat Housing to
Radiator Hose, bolts attaching the Thermostat Housing to the Thermostat, and take off Thermostat Housing. Next, take off the Thermostat and clean gasket mating face. For the installation, install the Thermostat first, followed by attaching the Thermostat Housing on the
Intake Manifold in place with bolts that should be tightened to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Reconnect the Radiator Hose to the Thermostat Housing, reinstall the coolant recovery reservoir, and replace the air cleaner and duct. Refill the cooling system, bleed the air from the system, and lastly check for coolant leakage in the Thermostat Housing and gasket.
