To replace the Thermostat, you should first adjust the hose clamp with the hose clamp pliers (J 38185) at the Thermostat Housing after removing the throttle body air inlet duct carefully from the Thermostat Housing after which it was positioned. Drain out ice-coolant partially from the cooling system and disconnect the hose to the Thermostat Housing and take away the exhaust crossover-pipe. Next, you need to pull the Thermostat Housing bolts, Thermostat housing and gasket, then the Thermostat will be removed. The mating surfaces should be cleaned before installing the new Thermostat, then Thermostat Housing, and gasket. Replace and tighten the Thermostat Housing bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.) and put back the exhaust crossover pipe and attach the
Radiator Hose to the Thermostat Housing. Again, use the hose clamp pliers (j 38185) to reposition and install the hose clamp to the Thermostat Housing and carefully reinstall the throttle body air inlet duct, fill the cooling system, and finally, inspect for leaks.
