You should start brassing the front brake caliper by installing all components from repair kits after lubricating rubber parts using new brake fluid to help with assembly. All hydraulic components which are disconnected or removed from service should require either a new brake system bleeding procedure or a complete flush. Front axle set
Brake Pads require replacement during service and professionals must follow specified dry torque values for all fasteners. Perform all operations on a clean bench which must be totally free of mineral oil materials as touching the Piston with fingers could lead to injury. For protection during the process start by removing the brake caliper from the vehicle and inserting a careful placement of a thin piece of wood in front of the Piston to safeguard it. A stream of compressed air should be used to extract the Piston from the brake caliper housing. The procedure calls for removing the brake caliper bleed screw cap together with Piston boot, Piston seal and bleed screw. Check the brake caliper bore and Piston seal groove for excessive corrosion and scoring before deciding if a replacement of the brake caliper housing is needed. The replacement of the bracket becomes necessary if guide surfaces from the brake caliper mounting bracket show corrosion and signs of wear. Clear all debris from Brake Pad guide surfaces and all components outside the repair kit using denatured alcohol followed by drying with filtered unlubricated compressed air before blowing out all caliper housing bleeding channels and bleeder valve. To assemble the brake system install the bleed screw to 12 nm tightness (106 inch lbs.) before installation of the bleed screw cap.after threading the bleed screw cap. The installer should apply brake fluid to new Piston seals along with brake caliper bore seal grooves and then insert seals into their proper positions avoiding twisting during installation. Apply brake fluid onto the brake caliper bore and pistons before inserting the boot and Piston together while making sure the boot settles correctly into its place. Installation procedures for each additional Piston should follow before returning the brake caliper into position on the vehicle.
