How to replace the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on Chevrolet Colorado?

In order to replace the engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, first, partially drain were taken to a level below the ect sensor. When removing the ect sensor, disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector and remove the ect sensor electrical connector from the camshaft cover, being careful not to damage the coolant sensor to prevent it from impacting the fuel control system. Carefully pry the ect sensor off from the Cylinder Head using the j 45861 (ECT Sensor Socket). When installing the original or a new sensor without sealant, use thread sealer gm p/n 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent and then hand thread the ect sensor into the Cylinder Head. Tighten the ect sensor using the j 45861 (ECT Sensor Socket) of 14n m (10 lb ft). Next, install ect sensor electrical connector to the camshaft cover and ect sensor reconnect engine wiring harness electrical connector. Finally, refill the cooling system.

How to replace the Coolant Temperature Sensor on Chevrolet S10?

Begin by turning off ignition before removing the wing nuts from the air cleaner cover and air cleaner outlet duct to shift the air intake assembly out of the way. Before removing the ect sensor users should drain coolant to below the ect sensor level while they disconnect the ect sensor harness connector. You should only apply gm p/n 12346004 sealer or equivalent to thread surfaces before putting the ect sensor into the engine while tightening it to a torque of 20 n.m (15 lbft). After you connect the ect sensor harness connector you must refill the cooling system then install the air cleaner outlet duct assembly before tightening the wing nuts. After completing all steps disconnect the negative Battery Cable. Exercise extreme caution when dealing with the coolant sensor since any damages will cause issues with fuel control function.

In order to replace the engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, first, partially drain were taken to a level below the ect sensor. When removing the ect sensor, disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector and remove the ect sensor electrical connector from the camshaft cover, being careful not to damage the coolant sensor to prevent it from impacting the fuel control system. Carefully pry the ect sensor off from the Cylinder Head using the j 45861 (ECT Sensor Socket). When installing the original or a new sensor without sealant, use thread sealer gm p/n 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent and then hand thread the ect sensor into the Cylinder Head. Tighten the ect sensor using the j 45861 (ECT Sensor Socket) of 14n m (10 lb ft). Next, install ect sensor electrical connector to the camshaft cover and ect sensor reconnect engine wiring harness electrical connector. Finally, refill the cooling system.

Begin by turning off ignition before removing the wing nuts from the air cleaner cover and air cleaner outlet duct to shift the air intake assembly out of the way. Before removing the ect sensor users should drain coolant to below the ect sensor level while they disconnect the ect sensor harness connector. You should only apply gm p/n 12346004 sealer or equivalent to thread surfaces before putting the ect sensor into the engine while tightening it to a torque of 20 n.m (15 lbft). After you connect the ect sensor harness connector you must refill the cooling system then install the air cleaner outlet duct assembly before tightening the wing nuts. After completing all steps disconnect the negative Battery Cable. Exercise extreme caution when dealing with the coolant sensor since any damages will cause issues with fuel control function.
