How to service and repair the Throttle Position Sensor on Cadillac DeVille?

The first step to service and repair the Throttle Position Sensor requires removal of three connectors: idle air control (IAC) from the iac sensor and manifold absolute pressure (MAP) from the MAP Sensor. The first step is to unscrew the tp sensor retaining screws while also disconnecting the electrical connector from the tp sensor. Following this remove the water pump belt cover before finally disconnecting the tp sensor electrical connector from the tp sensor. To install the new system, start by putting an o-ring on the tp sensor and connecting the tp sensor electrical connector to the tp sensor before mounting the tp sensor on the Throttle Body where the tp sensor screws require 2.3 n.m (20 lb in) torque. Resecure the iac electrical connector to the iac sensor while also reattaching the MAP Sensor electrical connector to the MAP Sensor. Then reinstall the water pump belt and tensioner cover. The tp sensor learn procedure requires a one-minute run/on ignition period followed by 15 seconds of lock/off ignition state.
