How to replace the radiator fan and fan shroud on GMC Sierra 1500?

People should start the Radiator fan and shroud replacement process by removing the radiator inlet hose clip at the fan shroud before positioning the surge tank inlet hose clamp on the radiator while taking out the inlet hose connecting to the radiator. The first step involves removing the Radiator fan wiring harness clip before disconnecting all electrical connectors for the radiator fans. In case of need, proceed to open the engine oil cooler line clamp and extract the connecting lines from this attachment point. To proceed next remove the Radiator fan shroud bolts before extracting both the Radiator fan together with the shroud. To properly install the Radiator fan and shroud place their three lower tabs inside the radiator support flange while keeping the shroud parallel to the radiator. Secure the Radiator fan shroud bolts by torquing each one to 9 nm (80 inch lbs.). First install the cooler lines into the clip before closing it while connecting electrical connectors to the radiator fans. Reattach the wiring harness clip to the shroud while you install the surge tank inlet hose to the radiator which needs repositioning for the inlet hose clamp at the radiator before clip engagement at the fan shroud.

How to replace the radiator fan and fan shroud on GMC Yukon?

The procedure to change the Radiator fan and shroud (Non-HP2) must start by draining the cooling system fluid. Initiate the process by taking off the air inlet duct and separating the upper Radiator Hose from the Radiator before unclipping the Radiator inlet hose at the fan shroud location. The procedure requires moving the surge tank inlet hose clamp to different positioning before removing the surge tank inlet hose from the Radiator. To proceed with the replacement of the Radiator fan and shroud (Non-HP2) begin by disconnecting electrical connectors from Radiator fans while also removing the clip attaching wiring harness to the shroud and detaching transmission cooler lines bolts from fan shroud. Open the engine oil cooler line clip only if installation requires but also remove all cooler lines. To begin the Radiator fan shroud retainer bolts should be taken out followed by removing the Radiator fan and its shroud. Prepare installation by placing the three lower tabs into the Radiator support flange as you maintain the shroud in line with the Radiator. Fasten the Radiator fan to its position first before securing the shroud bolts at 9 n.m (80 lb in). Proceed by connecting the cooler lines through the clip before closing it yet continue by connecting electrical connectors to Radiator fans alongside fastening the wiring harness clip to the shroud. Twist all transmission cooling line bolts on the fan shroud into place until they reach 4 n.m (35 lb in) torque. The surge tank inlet hose needs installation onto the Radiator followed by adjusting the surge tank inlet hose clamp when needed. Hook the Radiator inlet hose clip at the fan shroud before reconnection of the upper Radiator Hose and air inlet duct installation. Finally, fill the cooling system.
