How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on GMC Acadia?

Begin sensor replacement by taking out the exhaust manifold lower heat shield. Start by disconnecting the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor. Then remove the crankshaft sensor bolt before removing the crankshaft sensor. As you install the new crankshaft position sensor place it properly while following all requirements for fastener application. Fasten the crankshaft position sensor bolt at 10 Nm (89 lb in) of torque then connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector back to the CKP sensor before reinstalling the exhaust manifold lower heat shield.

How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on GMC Sierra 1500?

To replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor, first raise and support the vehicle in an appropriate manner. Well, some of you may find this annoying. Basically, if the situation necessitates it, take off the oil pan skid plate and its bolts. Untape the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor and unbolt and remove the CKP sensor. When installing the CKP sensor, make certain that the sensor is pushed in firmly before tightening the bolt to prevent erratic performance and false diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). If replacing the old CKP sensor, install a NEW seal-ing (O-ring) onto the sensor before oiling with clean engine oil. Install the CKP sensor and bolt by tightening it to a 10 N.m (89 lb in). Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the CKP sensor. In case of applicable, use the position of the oil pan skid plate and install the bolts, and fasten them to 28 N.m (21 lb 10). Finally, lower the vehicle and execute the crankshaft position system variation learn procedure.
