How to replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor on GMC Canyon?

Before starting the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor replacement process you must raise and support the vehicle. Remove the CKP sensor by first disconnecting its engine wiring harness electrical connector and removing the bolt holding the sensor against the engine block. Keep both O-ring seals for disposal. You must install fresh O-ring seals onto the CKP sensor after applying a small amount of clean engine oil on them. Insert the CKP sensor into the engine block. Use sealer GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) on the bolt threads before installing the CKP sensor bolt secured at 10 N.m (89 lb in). Attach the engine wiring harness electrical connector back to the CKP sensor after which you should lower the vehicle to execute the CKP System Variation Learn Procedure.
