You must remove two components before starting the Oil Pan replacement process. Begin by disconnecting the battery ground cable then taking off the engine mount struts from the engine. Set up the engine support fixture (J28467-360) before lifting the vehicle. First disconnect the A/C Compressor mounting bolts before repositioning the compressor unit. Next remove the three-way catalytic converter pipe from the right
Exhaust Manifold while draining the engine oil. Take off both the
Starter motor and transaxle brace from the Oil Pan while the oil level sensor wiring harness is disconnected. Lower the vehicle after you loosen both transaxle mount lower nuts and engine mount lower nuts. Use engine support fixture (J28467-360) to elevate the engine one more time before removing the engine mount bracket that contains the engine mount from the Oil Pan. To begin the service disconnect the right lower
Ball Joint and outer tie rod from the
Steering Knuckle and remove the right side frame bolts and loosen the left side frame bolts. The torque wrench adapter (J39505) aids right Oil Pan side bolt removal while you remove left Oil Pan side bolts and Oil Pan retaining bolts to detach the Oil Pan with its gasket. Clean both the Oil Pan and engine block gasket surfaces before applying sealant onto the rear main bearing cap and engine block area. Then position the Oil Pan Gasket and install the Oil Pan while tightening its retaining bolts to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Use a torque wrench adapter (J39505) to install right Oil Pan side bolts while torqueing them to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Install left sides bolts with the same torque value. Tighten both side frame bolts to 180 nm (133 ft. Lbs.) before reinstalling the right lower Ball Joint with the outer tie rod. Then install the engine mount bracket attached to the engine mount on the Oil Pan. To lower the engine you must first lower the vehicle then utilize the engine support fixture (J28467-360). Methods include raising the vehicle once more and installing transaxle mount and engine mount lower nuts followed by the transaxle brace and Starter motor and oil level sensor wiring harness connection. After installing the A/C Compressor and three-way catalytic converter pipe to the right Exhaust Manifold position the vehicle for another lowering procedure. After removing the engine support fixture (J28467-360) engine support adapter leg (J36462-A) and engine support fixture adapter (J28467-9OA) technicians should install engine mount struts and fill new oil before reconnecting the battery ground cable.
