The replacement of the right Exhaust Manifold requires you to start by taking off three parts: windshield wiper motor cover, air cleaner intake duct, and accelerator cable bracket from the
Throttle Body. The engine rotation provides better access to remove the right side
Spark Plug Wires along with the manifold air pressure (MAP) sensor and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe and ignition module and
Ignition Coil bracket. First detach the heated
Oxygen Sensor connector before removing the evap solenoid bracket and after taking out exhaust crossover heat shield bolts with its associated heat shield. The right Exhaust Manifold needs its exhaust crossover pipe nuts removed before vehicle elevation and support installation and subsequent
Catalytic Converter extraction. To proceed with the repair disconnect the Exhaust Manifold heat shields and their bolts and shields before moving on to unfasten the manifold nuts and then disassembling the manifolding, including the removal of the exhaust gasket. Check for debris on the right Exhaust Manifold surface before inspecting it. The manifold must be replaced with the heated oxygen (HO2S) sensor removal. To install the components begin by placing the heated oxygen (HO2S) sensor first then apply the Exhaust Manifold Gasket and Exhaust Manifold before securing its nuts to 16 nm (12 ft. Lbs.). Begin by mounting both heat shields first and secure the bolts to a torque of 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Afterward install the Catalytic Converter. Prior to lowering the vehicle install exhaust crossover pipe nuts to the right Exhaust Manifold and secure the exhaust crossover pipe heat shield with corresponding bolts at 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Return the evap solenoid bracket then append the heated oxygen (HO2S) sensor electrical connector and connect the Spark Plug Wires to their destination spots on the right side spark plugs. The final installation steps include placing the ignition module, its coils and bracket, the egr valve at the intake manifold and the
MAP Sensor and engine rotation for original positioning then attaching the Throttle Body bracket to the air inlet duct and windshield wiper motor cover.
