How to properly handle the Brake Drum replacement process on Chevrolet Colorado?

First lift the vehicle and set it on stands before taking off the tire and wheel unit. Take out the brake retainer parts before taking the Brake Drum off. First, measure the highest diameter of the brake drum in the using to micrometer, If the maximum refinish diameter is being exceeded, discard the brake drum out and not refinish. In case of refinishing, resource to the Wheel Hub Resurfacing Kit (J42450-A) to remove the rust completely from the brake drum flange. After cleaning, it is time to refinish the brake drum as prescribed by the brake lathe manufacturer's operating instructions. Lastly, wipe the breaking surfaces with denatured alcohol before drying with non-lubricated, filter compressed air.
