To replace the valve lifters, you would remove the Cylinder Head and the gasket, then the valve lifter guide bolts. If there are any valve lifters that are stuck because of gum and varnish deposit, make use of the valve lifter remover (J 3049-A) to facilitate the removal of such lifters. After the valve lifters have been pulled out of the guide, it is necessary to organize or mark the components for correct installation. Feed the base oil in first before placing the refill in place.
