To overhaul the front brake caliper then you should loosen the components from the car so that you do not place fingers in front of the Piston when using compressed air to avoid injury. Use clean cloths to pad with the inside of the caliper housing when removing the pistons using low pressure compressed air through the fluid inlet hole to ease out the pistons. Take a small wooden or plastic tool and carefully remove and dispose of the Piston dust boot seals and the Piston seals. While the cap is unscrewed, proceed to situate it to one side out of the way. Clean the caliper Piston bores, seal counterbores and pistons with denatured alcohol or similar but do not use abrasives. Remove the bleeder valve and cap of the caliper. Dry these components down with non-lubricated, filtered compressed air and check the caliper bores for any cracks, scoring, pitting, excess rust, or corrosion; if there is light rust or corrosion, then try to remove it using fine emery paper but in case the imperfections still exist, replace the caliper assembly. Check the caliper pistons for any degree of damage, and replace them if needed. Ulusate the new Piston seals with delco supreme 11 (R) gm p/n 12377967 or canadian p/n 992667 equivalents or other approved dot-3 brake fluid in a clean, sealed container, before installing into the sliding bores of the caliper. Now put on the new Piston dust boot seal over the Piston and install the caliper pistons into the bore such that the boots are placed well into the grooves. Lastly, install the caliper bleed screw and tighten it to 12 nm (106 inch lbs), screw in the bleed screw cap, and reattach the caliper onto the vehicle.
