How to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on GMC Sierra 1500?

Begin by removing the air cleaner outlet resonator to replace the Throttle Position (TP) Sensor. After disconnecting the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector, remove the TP sensor screws for sensor extraction. Because the TP sensor operates by electrical signals engineers must avoid submerging it in cleaning fluids or solvents to prevent damage. Follow these installation steps: position the TP sensor to match the throttle shaft then install TP sensor screws with 2 N.m (18 lb in) torque following Service Precautions Fastener Notice. After completion connect the TP sensor electrical connector while reinstalling the air cleaner outlet resonator.

How to replace the Throttle Position Sensor on GMC Sonoma?

The first step of throttle position (TP) sensor replacement involves removing the Throttle Body with its mounting screws from the tp sensor before extracting the tp sensor from the Throttle Body assembly. At this stage avoid exposing the electrical component to liquid cleaners or solvents since it may cause damage. Position the tp sensor directly above the throttle shaft and place its mounting holes into the corresponding holes of the Throttle Body assembly before securing the sensor in place with screws. Proper installation of the gm p/n 1052624 thread locking material or equivalent is necessary due to existing thread locking adhesive on the screws. Arrange the Throttle Body in place before connecting its tp sensor harness connector and tightening the screws to 2 n.m (18 lb in).
