How to replace the Clutch Master Cylinder on GMC Sierra 1500?

Start by disconnecting the clutch pedal position switch electrical connector when replacing the Clutch Master Cylinder. You must push the clutch pedal in then crimp the pushrod bushing tabs together to extract the pushrod bushing from the clutch pedal. Motorcycles with nv 3500 or nv 4500 transmission must disconnect the clutch actuator cylinder from its quick connect fitting to the Clutch Master Cylinder while zf s6-650 transmission models require the same disconnection procedure. First remove the Clutch Master Cylinder clip which attaches to the brake pressure module valve pipe then turn the Clutch Master Cylinder clockwise 45 degrees to unlock it before you can remove the cylinder. When installing the Clutch Master Cylinder users must first install the zf s6-650 transmission then follow with the nv 3500 or nv 4500 transmission as needed. To lock the Clutch Master Cylinder rotate the device 45 degrees counterclockwise. Reinstall the clutch actuator cylinder to Clutch Master Cylinder quick connect fitting for both transmission models before attaching the Clutch Master Cylinder clip onto the brake pressure module valve pipe. Fluctuate the clutch pedal using gentle pressure to unite the pushrod socket with the clutch pedal before reconnecting the clutch pedal position switch electrical connector . Afterward, proceed to pump the pedal three times to verify proper connection before engine start.

How to replace the Clutch Master Cylinder on GMC Canyon?

The white plastic sleeve on the quick connect requires use of the hydraulic clutch line separator (J 42371) to push back and detach the hydraulic Clutch Hose from the clutch actuator quick connect. Remove the retainer from the clutch pedal pin through a flat bladed tool that separates the Clutch Master Cylinder push rod from the pedal assembly before the retainer becomes useless. Raise the vehicle into position while supporting its weight. Then remove the clutch hydraulic hose retainer from inside the fender before lowering down the vehicle. After rotating the Clutch Master Cylinder clockwise 1/8 turn users can remove the assembly with its hydraulic hose from the cowl. When installing the Clutch Master Cylinder position the reservoir cap at the 1:30 position before rotating clockwise 1/8 turn until complete insertion with the cap oriented at the 12:00 position. Reverse the motion to raise the vehicle one more time before sliding the quick connect fitting into the Clutch Slave Cylinder. You will hear a "click" when it's properly seated so gently tug on the fitting to confirm proper retention. After setting the clutch hydraulic hose retainer to the inner fender position, lower the vehicle because you need to insert a new retainer into the Clutch Master Cylinder push rod and push the push rod onto the clutch pedal pin. The clutch hydraulic system requires bleeding only when adjustments to the clutch release switch and clutch pedal position switch completion.
