A technician should first raise and support the vehicle before starting Torque Converter service or repair work. Begin by removing the transmission converter cover bolts followed by the cover and then extracting the Starter. Begin by gently removing one bolt at a time from the 3 converter-to-Flywheel attaching points. For installation, install the bolts (N/A) that attach the converter to the Flywheel one at a time, tightening them to 62 nm (46 ft. Lbs.) after completing bolt tightening on all 3 pieces you must return to tighten the initial bolt. Install the converter cover and bolts, tightening them to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.), then reinstall the Starter. Finally, lower the vehicle.
