To replace the rear axle control trailing arm as well as the rear suspension control arm bracket, first lift and support the vehicle, and then remove the tire and wheel assembly. Now, remove the park brake cable retaining bolt and bracket from the trailing arm, and also use the correct tool to detach the park brake cables retaining clip from the trailing arm bracket . Remove the trailing arm bracket mounting, then avail the bolts that join the trailing arm to the knuckle. Remove the trailing arm and bracket from the frame and knuckle and remove the bolt and nut that is coupling the trailing arm bracket to the trailing arm. For installation, using a bolt and nut from trailing arm bracket, hook to trailing arm, tighten trailing arm to bracket nut 60 Nm (44 lb ft), and use the J 45059 to rotate nut another 60 degrees. Position the trailing arm and bracket assembly onto the knuckle and frame , and install the bolts from the trailing arm to the knuckle, tightening them recommended torque of 80 Nm (133 lb ft). Mount the mounting bolts to the trailing arm bracket, with the tightness set at 60 Nm (44 lb ft), and to position the bolt another 60 degrees with the J 45059. Then, install park brake cable retaining clip to the trailing arm bracket , install park brake cable retaining bracket and bolt to the trailing arm and tighten mounting bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb in). Lastly, lower the vehicle and reinstall the tire and wheel assembly.
