A technician must utilize the j 24319-b - steering linkage and Tie Rod puller to detach the outer Tie Rod from its position on the Steering Knuckle. Measure the necessary turns needed to fully remove the outer Tie Rod by first loosening its inner Tie Rod nut. The installation process starts with outer Tie Rod separation from the inner Tie Rod which requires discarding the inner Tie Rod nut. Install a new inner Tie Rod nut onto the outer Tie Rod by using the same number of turns which were recorded during the uninstall process. Follow fastener precautions while you join the Steering Knuckle to the inner Tie Rod and the outer Tie Rod before proceeding. Use a new outer Tie Rod nut which you need to tighten first to 35 nm (26 lb ft) before proceeding with an additional 110 degrees of tightening.
