The procedure to replace a v6 Power Steering Pump begins with blocking the front air deflector and then the front compartment lower noise shield before using drain pans to empty power steering fluid from the reservoir. Start by removing the Power Steering Pump pulley followed by disconnecting both outlet hose of power steering fluid reservoir and inlet hose of the pump. Finally remove Power Steering Pump bracket bolts. Tear the Power Steering Pump and bracket along with its bracket out of the vehicle before any possible bracket relocation. Install the Power Steering Pump system by placing first the pump and bracket into position then manually tighten all fasteners before executing torque measurements. Lock the Power Steering Pump bracket bolts at 50 nm (37 lb ft) torque. After that, place the power steering gear inlet hose fitting and power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose on the pump. Eliminate remaining fluid through cleaning then remove drain pans before installing the Power Steering Pump pulley. During the last stage the technician must install the front compartment lower noise shield and the front air deflector before filling and bleeding the power steering system.
