How to replace the starter motor (RPO L26/3.8L) on 2008 Buick Lucerne?

In order to change the starter motor, disconnect the negative battery cable and lift the vehicle up. Take out the transmission brace and transaxle converter cover. Unscrew the terminals of the starter solenoid and engine harnesses and remove the starter motor. Install starter motor again and reconnect all terminals. Lastly, reassemble the transmission brace and drop the vehicle.
