  A: To replace the wheel drive shaft outer joint and boot, you should start with clamping the drive Axle Shaft in a soft jawed vice. Disengage the retaining tabs of the large seal clamp using a flat-bladed tool and discard, and remove the small seal clamp with side cutters and dispose of it. Remove and disengage the constant velocity (CV) joint boot from the cv joint race at the large diameter, push the boot off of the joint on the wheel drive shaft bar. Before you do this, rile off any excess grease from the face of the cv (inner race), slip a block of wood upon the cv (outer race), then tap it onto the wheel drive shaft bar to remove the joint from the cv of the wheel drive shaft bar. When you have finished, remove the seal and retaining ring on the cv joint on the wheel drive shaft bar.
