The Power Steering Cooler pipe/hose (LP1, LY7) replacement process starts with placing a drain pan beneath the vehicle followed by removing the front air deflector and the Radiator. Use the clamp compressor to break the connection between the power steering reservoir inlet pipe/hose and power steering gear outlet pipe/hose from the Power Steering Cooler pipe. After disconnecting the lower Power Steering Cooler pipe mounting bolt you should remove the upper mounting bolt to extract the Power Steering Cooler pipe. Place the Power Steering Cooler in position then secure it with the upper mounting bolt at 5.4 n.m (48 lb in) torque setting followed by lower mounting bolt installation at the same torque specification. This step requires the use of the clamp for connecting the power steering gear outlet pipe/hose together with the power steering reservoir inlet pipe/hose to the Power Steering Cooler pipe. Reinstall the Radiator then drain the pan while filling and bleding the power steering system. The installation process ends by putting back the front air deflector.
