How to replace the front Door Latch Assembly on 2006 Chevrolet SSR?

Front door latch replacement begins with removing the door trim panel followed by the front water deflector extraction. The process begins with taking away the inside Door Handle before breaking the clip that joins the external Door Handle rod to the front Door Lock. Remove the door latch outside lock rod as well as the inner lower lock rod. To proceed with the door latch exchange you must first remove all its screws before separating its electrical wiring attachments. After sliding through the access hole in the front door inner panel space the latch can be extracted. To install the latch insert it through the front door inner panel access hole and join the electrical connectors into the front Door Lock. Secure twice the latch screws on the front Door Lock before tightening them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Reposition the clip which secures the outside handle rod on the front Door Lock while installing the lock rod to the door latch system followed by connecting the inner lower lock rod. The operation of the Door Lock system must be checked before installing the front door water deflector followed by the door trim panel.
