Begin by examining the brake master cylinder fluid level. When the mark sits between low and high marks you should keep the fluid as is but lower it to midpoint when the mark points above midpoint. Insert a c-clamp onto the top of the caliper housing to push the pistons inward until they fully extend. After cleaning the brake hose fitting you should put a rubber closure on the brake pipe fitting to keep fluid in and foreign matter out until the brake hose is detached from the caliper. Uninstall the brake caliper from its bracket by first getting rid of the 2 adhered brake hose gaskets and disconnecting the brake hose from the caliper and caliper bolt assembly. When installing new brake pads you should clean the exterior part of the caliper boot with denatured alcohol and then compress the Piston to the bottom of the bore using a c-clamp while protecting the Piston and boot with an old brake pad, a metal plate, or a wooden block. Insert the new copper brake hose gaskets into the brake assembly and plug them to the brake hose before torquing the brake hose to caliper bolt at 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.). Multiple steps complete the repair including draining hydraulic brake fluid then putting back the tire and wheel assembly plus refilling the master cylinder to its needed brake fluid level.
