Remove the cross groove joint seal assembly using j 8059 snap ring pliers followed by discarding both the large and small seal retaining pieces. Begin by cleaning the joint and removing its seal from the main assembly while keeping in mind that entire outerjoint replacement minimizes both performance issues and injury potential. Before axleshaft installation place the seal onto the axle and apply 110 to 130 grams (3.9 to 4.6 ounces) of approved grease inside the joint seal followed by reapplying the same amount of grease to the joint. Fit a new large seal retaining clamp together with a new small seal retaining clamp and use the j 35566 (Seal Clamp Pliers) tool to crimp them before assembling the cross groove joint seal.
