How to Service and Repair the Trunk Latch on 2003 Cadillac CTS?

In order to replace the rear compartment lid latch, one has to open the rear compartment and take away the trim panel. Unscrew the release handle and the electrical connector and unscrew the bolts holding the latch. Install the new latch, reconnect the electrical connector and reattach the trim panel and then close the compartment.
