To remove the Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor, one should first lift and support the vehicle. Unscrew the oil filter adaptor and disconnect the crankshaft sensor electrical connector. Next remove the retaining bolt of the crankshaft sensor and take out the crankshaft sensor. Before installing, check the crankshaft sensor O-ring to wear or damage, and replace one if needed. Add clean engine oil in the O-ring and insert the crankshaft sensor and tighten it with a retaining bolt of 10 N.m (89 lb in). Reconnect the crankshaft sensor electrical connector and replace the oil filter adaptor. Lower the vehicle and start the engine, then observe for oil leakages around the crankshaft sensor.
