  A: Before removal of the EGR Valve note its base orientation as using the electrical connector for orientation is incorrect since installing the valve backwards may trigger rough engine idle and create dtcs. The EGR Valve service commences by disconnecting its electrical connector followed by bolt removal from the valve then extracting the valve and gasket. After cleaning the gasket material from the egr mounting surface check that the EGR Valve maintains its correct position. Position the egr gasket next to the Intake Manifold egr mounting location before the EGR Valve. Insert first the retaining bolts into the EGR Valve and gasket through the mounting holes before tightening them to 10 n.m (89 lb in) and 25 n.m (18 lb ft). The EGR Valve harness connector should be installed as the last step.
