The loaded clutch face is the Saturn Pressure Plate which literally clamps the disc to the flywheel to transfer the torque and releases to allow the pedal to be released. Introduced in 1991 on a clean sheet, Saturn introduced polymer body parts that mocked the dings made by shopping carts, therefore rust never has a chance to take root and paint remains unscratched. Although the molten aluminum was also poured through lost foam molds applied by Saturn, it created elaborate passages within its engines, trimming pounds off and increasing strength.
