How to replace the camshaft on GMC Sierra 1500?

Fans need to uninstall the Radiator before targeting both the A/C Condenser and lifters and Timing Chain next. The Camshaft sprocket requires removal for the replacement to happen. Handle the Camshaft bearing-free with care while removing the balance shaft drive gear and Camshaft retainer bolts and retainer. Mount three 5/16-18 x 4.0 inch bolts into the front holes to rotate and extract the Camshaft from its position. Perform necessary checks for cleaning and inspecting both the Camshaft and bearings. A new Camshaft installation requires engine oil change together with filter replacement followed by supplementing the engine oil. Apply lubricant or engine oil supplement to every Camshaft lobe and bearing journal and bearing together. The engine Camshaft installation requires the same bolts before removing them. Before installing the retainer, apply threadlocker to retainer bolts then tighten the bolts to 12 nm (106 lb in) torque. The complete installation process includes the balance shaft drive gear together with the Timing Chain and Camshaft sprocket and lifters and A/C Condenser and Radiator.
