Take off the Fan Clutch and Drive Belt components from their vehicle position. Unfasten the Water Pump Pulley bolts to pull off the pulley before disconnecting the radiator outlet hose, bypass hose, and heater outlet hose from the Water Pump. Pull out Water Pump bolts and extract all Water Pump parts with the gasket built-in. Check for surface damage on both engine block and Water Pump bolt areas before cleaning these surfaces. Install the gasket and water coolant pump but apply teflon pipe sealant gm p/n 12346004 or compatible product to the Water Pump mounting bolts first. Then fasten and torque the bolts to 42 nm (31 ft. Lbs.). Put the Water Pump mounting bolts through their bolt holes after reattaching the heater, by-pass, and Radiator Hoses to the Water Pump component. Then install the Water Pump Pulley and its bolts but tighten them up to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Connect these components to complete the assembly: Drive Belt, fan clutch, upper Fan Shroud, coolant tank and the air system parts. Rejoin the negative Battery Cable while adding coolant to the engine system and removing air from the coolant system before checking for any leakages.

You need to disconnect the inlet hose first at both clamps before pulling it free from the Water Pump. Next remove the outlet hose by unclipping its clamps. After that take off the heater inlet hose clamp and disconnect the hose from the heater. Take out the Water Pump by removing the bolts first and then taking out the unit with its gaskets for proper disposal. Apply new gaskets when you install the Water Pump while keeping all components clean from oil and other debris. Apply new Water Pump gaskets before installing the Water Pump. Secure its bolts at 15 nm and tighten them to 30 nm during final torque. Fasten the heater hose inlet first then add the outlet and inlet clamp. Reattach the belt for the accessories, fan and compressor parts, and place the air filter unit back in place. Also add fluid to the cooling system.
