Startswith the removal of the air cleaner outlet resonator followed by the a/c suction hose for 4.3l engines yet the radiator inlet hose removal for 4.8l and 5.3l and 6.0l engines. First disconnect the Battery Cable with the maf sensor wire from the Fan Shroud clips and then take out the transmission oil lever indicator. Remove the Fan Shroud by disconnecting all its bolts. The Fan Shroud should be placed into position before securing it with bolts that must be tightened to 6 nm (53 lb in). Reset the transmission oil lever indicator along with the maf sensor wire and the Battery Cable. The engine upper to lower oil level indicator tube needs resealing through application of rtv sealant gm p/n 12346286 or equivalent at the joints before inserting the top tube section into the bottom section on 4.3l, 5.0l and 5.7l engines. The oil level indicator tube requires installation onto the transmission fluid fill tube lower support by securing it with a retaining bolt which should be tightened to 4 nm (44 inch lbs.). This procedure must be followed by tightening the screw attaching the oil fill tube to the lower support. The Coolant Reservoir or surge tank and air intake duct from throttle body and air cleaner assembly need to be reinstalled.
