The Other major assembly or part of the GMC Envoy automobiles is the Ball Joint that works for suspension and steering system where the control arms are connected to the steering knuckles. While these ball joints permit rotation of the spindle in any plane within horizontal cross-sections of these two planes they prevent translation further improving the handling, stability and comfort of the ride of the vehicle. Commonly made of steel, ball joint involves a bearing stud and socket contained in a rubber-like cover to shield the joint's exposure to dirt and to provide a passage way for lubricants. Caster and camber are precisely adjustable with modern ball joints instead of the slippery old kingpin designs, but it never really applied the wanted float to the tire for longevity which gives more tire-to-road contact. These components are mainly applied in the front suspensions of automobiles and some highly powered cars have them installed in rear suspensions.
