The Brake Pad is an essential part of the brake system that is fitted in Chevrolet Venture cars; this being due to the reliability and efficiency of the part. These brake pads are meant to rub against the brake rotors thus facilitating the stopping mechanism of the car, though cardinal to the safety and efficiency of the Chevrolet Venture that was manufactured between 1997 and 2005. Designed for different Venture models the Brake Pad is suitable in particular for the Base, LS, and LT models increasing the braking ability of each particular brand. The brake pads; non-metallic, semi-metallic, fully metallic and ceramic brake pads; vary in their friction characteristics, durability and noise producing ability. One should service the car as suggested, usually after 50,000 miles; this will keep the Brake Pad working effectively and replacing the related hardware will also be helpful. Notably also, Brake Pad employs wear sensors with an aim of notifying the driver that its replacement is over with utmost safety in mind. Such an approach and diligence relate the Brake Pad to the sphere of automotive industry, thus giving the drivers confidence. As a functional car spare part, the Brake Pad is built with great structural strength and is of universal use across many models of Chevrolet Venture, and will help to increase the efficiency of driving and related safety on the road.

Chevrolet Venture Brake Pad Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the front brake pads on Chevrolet Venture?
    A:
Before starting Brake Pad replacement you must check the fluid level in the brake master cylinder reservoir then remove fluid to reach the midway point. First lift the vehicle then position support stands under it before you take off the tire and wheel. Fasten the rotor securely with two wheel nuts while digging in a c-clamp between the top brake caliper and the back of its outboard pad to push the piston until the brake caliper moves off the rotor. Support the brake caliper with heavy mechanic's wire to avoid damaging the brake hose after removing its lower bolt and c-clamp. Position the brake caliper upward to get to the brake pads and take out both components plus Brake Pad retainers from the Brake Caliper Bracket. Before pulling the piston inside the bore, put a piece of wood or an old Brake Pad between the c-clamp and the brake caliper to protect them. Then use the c-clamp to push the piston all the way in. Examine Brake Caliper Bolt boots and piston boot for damage while inspecting the brake caliper fittings to replace and repair as needed. Also check brake caliper bolts for rust with new parts when necessary. Use a c-clamp tool to push brake piston down to bottom of caliper and install Brake Pad retainers to caliper bracket while ensuring wear sensor remains on outer leading pad. Put the brake pads on the retainers before positioning them onto the caliper bracket. Apply high temp silicone lube to the bolt and its boot. Place the caliper onto the pads before screwing in the bottom bolt at 85 nm (63 ft. Lbs.). Before putting the tire and wheel on install two socket wrenches to remove wheel nuts from rotor position. Lower vehicle and pump brake pedal to make the pedal firm. Drain and refill new brake fluid into master cylinder. Repeat this action until brake fluid level goes back to normal.
  • Q: How to replace the rear brake pads on Chevrolet Venture?
    A:
Start by checking the brake master cylinder reservoir fluid level first. When the fluid shows above midway between high and low marks replace it until fluid stands at that level. Lift your vehicle for access before taking out the tire and wheel. Place 2 wheel nuts on the rotor before tightening a c-clamp down on the back of outboard brake pads until the Brake Caliper Piston pushes into its bore. Turn the c-clamp tight while pushing the brake caliper down to reach brake pads without needing to remove it from its bracket. Disconnect the Brake Pad set 9 and 10 from the caliper bracket. Protect both components with an old Brake Pad between them before pushing the piston all the way into the bore using a c-clamp. Both Brake Caliper Bolt boots and Brake Caliper Piston boot must be inspected for damage or decay. If unhealthy, replace them with new components. Check the caliper bolts for signs of corrosion and use fresh ones when required. Clean the caliper surface with denatured alcohol before pressing the piston to the bottom using a c-clamp and protection block. Position Brake Pad retainers correctly on the caliper bracket while placing the wear sensor at the leading edge of the outer pad. Install the brake pads 9 and 10 above their retainers and over the caliper bracket while raising the caliper upward with heavy wire. Put high temperature silicone lube onto the bolt and boot before installing the upper caliper bolt and torquing it to 44 nm (32 ft. Lbs.). Place the wheels on the rotor by unthreading the wheel nuts then attach them to the wheel. Lower the vehicle and refill the brake system with clean fluid until it reaches the specified level. Keep the vehicle stationary until you attain a strong Brake Pedal reaction when pumping the pedal three-fourths of a full stroke. Finally, perform pad and rotor surface smoothing processes.
