First remove the wheel and tire and then separate the Steering Knuckle from the Wheel Hub assembly. Begin by taking off both the upper Ball Joint retaining clip and the upper Ball Joint boot. The lower Ball Joint remover and installer (J 9519-E) serves to extract the upper Ball Joint out of the Steering Knuckle. Installation requires the new upper Ball Joint to be positioned by using the lower Ball Joint remover and installer (J 9519-E) together with the Control Arm Bushing set (J 21474-01) and the Ball Joint installation spacer (J 45117). Secure the upper Ball Joint with its retaining clip then reattach the Steering Knuckle with the Wheel Hub and reinstall tire and wheel before lowering the vehicle and performing a front wheel alignment check.
