Chevrolet Timing Belt Idler Pulley maintains the timing belt of the engine tight and in line with the engine to generate a smooth power. Chevrolet began in 1911 and set the driving pace at a brisk pace with cars that common drivers can afford. It continues to produce machines that combine simple functionality with aggressive style hence Chevrolet continues to conquer driveways of small and large towns. Chevy comes with quiet interiors, easy to operate levers and engines that pull without creaking to allow commuters to relax and vacationers to travel. Chevy is holding on to the asphalt and swearing at potholes on weekend errands or on mountain passes. The hands-free help of Super Cruise demonstrates the entrance of Chevy with fresh technologies into daily budgets. The drivers love high values and easy maintenance programs that do not strain tight budgets. Extended warranty insurance also supports that belief and makes owners drive miles and not concerns. The interior materials are firm enough to handle sloppy pets, crumbs on the floor, and four seasons of mud. Timing Belt Idler Pulley is placed alongside the timing belt and it directs the timing belt such that the teeth align with the cogs and tension does not drop. The belt maintains a constant force to prevent a collision of valves and pistons, which conserves fuel and eliminates tailpipe smoke. The component also protects against sudden belt whip which will spike engine noise or crack parts. Timing Belt Idler Pulley is made of hardened bearings and accurate grooves, which endure a long heat cycle and high revs. Fit it properly and the entire drive train works cooler and safer.

Chevrolet Timing Belt Idler Pulley Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service and repair the Timing Belt Idler Pulley on Chevrolet Aveo?
    A:
The repair process of a Timing Belt Idler Pulley requires users to start by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by disconnecting the intake air temperature sensor connector and extracting the air intake tube attached to the Throttle Body and the breather tube from the valve cover. Begin by removing bolts from the air filter housing then taking out the air filter housing followed by the right front wheel and splash shield. The next operational stage includes removing the accessory Drive Belt combined with the Crankshaft Pulley bolt and the Crankshaft Pulley itself. Begin by unbolting the timing belt covers situated at both the upper and lower front part. The procedure includes removal of Power Steering Pump mounting bolts when this component is equipped. You must reinstall the Crankshaft Pulley bolt before using it to rotate the crankshaft at least once clockwise during installation. Lend the large scale gear alignment to the front timing belt cover base notch and ensure the camshaft gear readings match each other. Prevent over-tightening of coolant pump retaining bolts while you turn the pump clockwise with the timing belt adjuster (J 42492-A) until the adjust arm pointer matches the timing belt automatic tensioner bracket notch. Tighten the coolant pump retaining bolts before rotating the crankshaft two full clockwise turns followed by further loosening of the bolts once again. Apply the timing belt adjuster (J 42492-A) to turn the coolant pump until the pointer on the adjust arm matches the indicator on the timing belt automatic tensioner bracket and secure the coolant pump retaining bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Install the upper and lower front timing belt covers while adding their bolts which must be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). The Crankshaft Pulley gets bolted along with its pulley following wrench torque application to 95 n.m (70 lb ft). Subsequently an angle meter (J 45059) or angular torque gage (KM-470-B) should be utilized to apply additional 30 degrees with 15 degrees of Crankshaft Pulley bolt torque. Reinstallation of the accessory Drive Belt must be completed first before installing the right front wheel along with air filter housing and its bolts secured to 8 n.m (71 lb in). Finally, connect the air intake tube to the Throttle Body, the breather tube to the valve cover and the iat sensor connector then attach the negative Battery Cable.
