You should begin by taking off the
Spark Plug Wires, then loosen each Spark Plug a little. Take a brush or use an air blast to clean the dirt where the spark plugs go, then remove one plug at a time and put it in a tray labeled with the cylinder number. See that each Spark Plug gap is 1.524 mm (0.060 in) and make changes as needed. Put the spark plugs into their cylinders by hand and tighten them to the correct point for their type. For used heads, tighten to 15 n.m (11 lb ft); turn the spark plugs to 15 n.m (11 lb ft) for used heads, 20 n.m (15 lb ft) for new aluminum heads, and 30 n.m (22 lb ft) for new iron heads. When that is done, put the Spark Plug Wires onto each Spark Plug.
