To replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor, set ignition and start switch off/lock, all electrical loads off, to preclude electrical sparks as in the transition period. Disconnect the negative
Battery Cable. Start by lifting the vehicle and take out the
Starter. Next, remove the electrical connector of crankshaft position (CKP) sensor and clean the surroundings of ckp sensor to avoid debris getting into the engine. Disengaging the ckp sensor retaining fastener, and then the ckp sensor itself. For installation, reinstall the ckp sensor into position and fix it with the retaining fastener and tighten it to 25 n.m. (18 lb ft). Connect the ckp sensor electrical connector, put back the Starter, bring back to the ground the vehicle, and reconnect the negative Battery Cable. Finally, following ckp sensor replacement, perform the crankshaft position system variation learn.
