Start the valve repair process by making sure the Crankshaft does not turn while using compressed air inside the cylinder to avoid flywheel holding tool (J 43653) harm. To work on manual transmissions keep the car in first gear with brake lock engaged while automatic transmission requires
Starter removal. First secure the
Camshaft with the flywheel holding tool j 43653 for safety before you remove both Camshaft and Camshaft roller follower pieces. Start by putting on the valve spring compressor (J 43649) to the Cylinder Head then take off all
Spark Plugs. A pressurized air hose adapter must enter the Spark Plug hole to build 690 kpa (100 psi) pressure inside the cylinder. Use the valve spring compressor to push down the spring before taking out both valve spring keepers and the valve spring. To remove the valve seal you need to put the Valve Stem Oil Seal remover (J 36017) tool in place. After obtaining the Valve Stem Oil Seal remover (J 36017), put the new valve seal into place using the tool before installing the valve spring. Repeat the valve spring compression while putting back the valve spring keepers. Release the Spark Plug hole air hose adapter and uninstall the valve spring compressor (part J 43649) from the Cylinder Head. Replace the spark plugs along with Camshaft rollers and Camshaft properly into their places. Reinsert the Starter part if it left, after that put back the tool j 43653 it held when you removed the flywheel.
