How to replace the Wiper Pulse Module on Cadillac XLR?

The air inlet grille panel needs removal before the Wiper Pulse Module replacement can begin. The wiper linkage separator tool (J 39232) creates space between the wiper transmission and wiper motor crank arm to enable Wiper Pulse Module removal. Once you remove all screws holding the Wiper Pulse Module in place you can extract it from the plenum to reach and disconnect the wiper motor electrical connector. Position the new module where the old one was and then attach the wiper motor electrical connector. Put the Wiper Pulse Module into position within the plenum while installing screws and applying 8 n.m (71 lb in) torque on those screws. The wiper linkage installer tool j 39529 enables connection of the wiper transmission to the wiper motor crank arm. The washer fluid line requires careful handling during service because pulling it up from the air inlet grille might cause wiper system interference which needs fluid line adjustment through the access panel at the wheelhouse's lower rear. Afterwards replace the air inlet grille panel and check to ensure the wipers work correctly.
