To remove the engine front cover, one must first remove the engine cover, and for lp1 and ly7 engines, they also need to remove the upper
Intake Manifold, and lower Intake Manifold but for llt engines, only remove the Intake Manifold. Next, take off the camshaft covers, drain the engine-cooling system, unhook the purge vent hose from the water outlet, and take off the water outlet and
Radiator Hose. After that, remove the accessory
Drive Belts, remove the A/C Compressor and power steering belt tensioner, and then remove the generator bracket with the generator and the belt tensioner without draining the a/c refrigerant or power steering pipes. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir, lift
Power Steering Pump pulley, and then unscrew the Power Steering Pump upper front bolt and loosen others. After disconnecting the crankshaft balancer and the oil valves, remove the front cover of the engine with the
Water Pump. Clean the sealing surfaces of the engine front cover nicely so that there are no contaminants running into the oil pan. Fit the engine front cover as required and use en 46109 to do so. Replace oil control valves, crankshaft balancer, power steering pump, and the Power Steering Pump pulley. Then reinstall the power steering fluid reserve, generator bracket with generator and belt tensioner, a/c compressor and power steering belt tensioner, and accessory drive belts. Install the water outlet and connect the purge vent hose and refill the cooling system. Lastly, fit the camshaft covers, intake manifold for llt engines or the upper and lower Intake Manifold for lp1 and ly7 engines, and engine cover and then refill the cooling system as well as changing the engine oil.
