How to replace the Dipstick Tube on Cadillac STS?

You need to remove the front compartment sight shield according to requirement before starting work on the oil level indicator. The first step to replace these components is loosening the oil level indicator tube bolt before removing the tube from the crankcase. Before tube installation the technician should add an O-ring to the oil level indicator tube while connecting the tube to its crankcase position. Please install the oil level indicator tube bolt according to the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions by tightening it to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.). Reinstall both the oil level indicator together with the front compartment sight shield if needed.
