To change the lower Intake Manifold (LP1, LY7), start by turning the ignition off and removing the fuel injector sight shield. Then, remove the air inlet duct and record boost hose routing before deconnecting
Brake Booster check valve and hose. Reposition the Brake Booster hose to the Intake Manifold, while then removing the purge solenoid valve electrical connector, the purge line from the purge solenoid valve, fuel injector harness electrical connector, then the
Throttle Body electrical connector. Pull out the wiring harness retainer, the upper Intake Manifold brace stud and bolt remove it, and reposition the brace facing toward the wiring harness. Remove the pcv hose from the right bank camshaft cover, the barometric pressure sensor electrical connector and the Intake Manifold runner control solenoid electrical connector. Detach the left bank i.c. Wire harness from the bracket, taking care not to lose the upper to lower Intake Manifold bolts or the fuel pipe. Allow to remove the Intake Manifold bolts, reposition Intake Manifold to access fuel pipe connect, before retaining the fuel feed pipe before removal fuel feed pipe from
Fuel Rail. Clean and check again the Intake Manifold and sealing surfaces and then fit Intake Manifold where it is required having a new lower Intake Manifold Gasket only if damaged or worn out. Attach the Intake Manifold, reconnect the fuel injector harness power connector, the Intake Manifold runner control solenoid power connector, the barometric pressure sensor power connector, and pcv hose to the right bank camshaft cover. Put on the wiring harness retainer, while ensuring that the wiring harness connector latches correctly in place, then attach the Throttle Body electrical connector then install the fuel feed pipe to the Fuel Rail and install the purge line to the purge solenoid valve. Mount the fuel pipe retainer and reconnect the purge solenoid valve electrical connector, and mount the Brake Booster hose and check valve onto the Brake Booster. Finally, install the air inlet duct and the fuel injector sight shield.
