To remove the left Timing Chain, start with the removal of the
Spark Plug which will allow an easy cranking of the Crankshaft and followed by the engine front cover. Next, proceed to remove the rhs Timing Chain Tensioner, shoe, guide and chain, then remove the primary camshaft drive chain tensioner, upper guide and chain. Proceed by removing the chains on the right side of the bank by removing its camshaft intermediate drive chain idler after which move to the left side to remove its camshaft drive chain tensioner, shoe and guide followed by the left side camshaft intermediate and the drive chain, then for the chains of the Timing Chain then move to the right side to remove its right camshaft intermediate and the drive along with left side camshaft tensioner, chain shoe and guide. Check and inspect all camshaft timing drive components and replace them if needed. Installation begins with the left bank Timing Chain, followed by the left bank camshaft intermediate drive chain idler, guide, shoe, and tensioner. Next, mount the right bank camshaft intermediate drive chain idler, primary camshaft drive chain, primary upper camshaft drive chain guide, and primary camshaft drive chain tensioner. Lastly, put back the right drive chain for the Timing Chain, along with the guide, shoe as well as its tensioner; completely re-install the spark plugs and engine front cover.
