Service of the Exhaust Resonator begins by properly supporting the vehicle during elevation. The service requires bolt removal from the exhaust Muffler flange along with the removal of retainers which hold exhaust system hanger insulators. Secondly remove the hanger insulators which secure both the resonator and the exhaust pipe hanger insulators attached to the mufflers. The service procedure begins with unfastening the Exhaust Resonator clamps before moving the Exhaust Resonator apart from both exhaust Muffler pipes. Installation starts with placing the Exhaust Resonator onto the exhaust Muffler pipes followed by attaching exhaust pipe hanger insulators at both mufflers and resonator. Fastener notice in service precautions must be followed during installation of the hanger insulator retainers to the support rods which serve the resonator and mufflers. The repair process includes tightening the exhaust Muffler pipe flange bolts to 40 nm (30 ft. Lbs.) then clamping the resonator and securing its nuts with 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). Exhaust system operation requires the inspection of all clearance areas followed by engine startup to search for leaks and completion of vehicle lowering.
