Visible examination of the Steering Shaft should be performed to check for sheared plastic; a sheared section requires replacement of the Steering Shaft. A dial indicator should be positioned at the Steering Shaft's lower end to check if frame damage has caused Steering Shaft bending while rotating the steering wheel. The runout measurement should not exceed 1.60 mm (0.0625 in).
